GL Homes targets northern PB County for 1st timeThursday, January 5, 2012 GL Homes is starting sales in another South Florida community -- The Preserve at Bay Hill Estates.
It's the Sunrise-based builder's first foray into northern Palm Beach County.
GL will start selling the first of 193 lots this weekend in the
development at 7788 Eden Ridge Way, West Palm Beach. Don’t let the
street address fool you: This is actually west of Palm Beach Gardens on
Northlake Boulevard.
Homes are priced from the $400,000s to the $700,000s. Two model homes will be available for tours.
The development is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday (Jan. 7) and seven days a week after that. Click here for more details.
Lennar Corp. and Centex acquired the 380-acre site west of Ibis Golf
and Country Club years ago but never fully developed it because the
economy tanked, said Larry Portnoy, a vice president for GL. An investor
group later bought the note from a lender and recently reached a deal
with GL, he said.
The housing collapse hit the homebuilding industry particularly hard,
but GL is resilient. The company, which turns 36 this year, is known
for its communities on the west coast of Florida and southern Palm Beach
County. Next month, it’s opening The Bridges near Delray Beach.
