It’s Halloween at Valencia Cay at Riverland and it’s time for ghosts and goblins to come out and play! Costumed residents will turn out in decorated golf carts and bikes, armed with spooky noisemakers, horns and speakers to parade around the neighborhood, starting at the Sports Complex, and compete for first place in creativity, spookiness and funniest. In conjunction with the parade, the Valencia Cay Solo Club is sponsoring a Trick or Treat for Charity. They will form the caboose of the parade and will be collecting canned, dry and packaged food from Valencia Cay residents to donate to charity.
Starting in November, the virtual book club at Valencia Cay, Talking Books, will be held via zoom meetings. Anyone who is interested can participate – even if they haven’t read the book. Residents have also been having fun afternoons playing classic, fast-thinking games like Scattergories and Community Fued in the Valencia Cay zoom room. Quiz master Charlie D hosted these events and winners received an Amazon gift card. Community Feud is based on the hit TV game show, Family Feud! Contestants guess the most popular answers to zany survey questions.
